We just received a report concerning UFO phenomena in the area of Torquay, Devon, which is southwest of the Wiltshire cropcircles area by about 3 hrs drive. T. Roy Dutton, a former British Aerospace engineer, now retired, has been a friend of ours for several years. We first met him on one of our cropcircles expeditions in Wiltshire where he spends much time during the summer season. He and his wife Marian have become rather close friends and Roy is the guy I mentioned in a couple of Beyond Boundaries newsletters as having developed a graph which predicts when and where in our world the next UFO or cropcircle is most likely to appear. There is a high rate of accuracy using this graph, based on his theory that there are navigational links with the stars, with the terminator and with key points on the earth's equator. Roy Dutton's study is ongoing after more than 30 years researching UFO Close Encounter (CE) events and has revealed that CE activity is satisfactorily explained as an important element of an astronautical surveillance of Earth by technologically advanced spacecraft. His evidence suggests that an orbiter with the ability to change the inclination of its chosen orbit, or two orbiters operating on separate tracks, are employed by larger craft for the issue and retrieval of scout vehicles. And thus, his computer program plots lines for an area using latitude and longtitude coordinates and the graph is the months of any year versus two 24 hr periods of time. As far as we know neither this program nor the graphs are for sale - Roy has made gifts of them for many people who have met him through our expeditions in hopes that they will report back any sightings or events with correct times and locations of the world documented.
His letter which we received today dated May 7th reads as follows:
Dear Joyce,
I've been thinking that perhaps you would like to know about a couple of interesting events that have occurred here, in Devon, during the past few weeks -- especially, as you may still have memories of the area!!!! I'm enclosing copies of the appropriate cuttings (newspaper clippings) and some other information from my subsequent activities.
Sunday, 19th April --- At 21:30 BST we momentarily lost all power here. The lights went out, TV shut down, etc. -- just for a split second. I rushed to a window overlooking Torbay and saw that the power hadn't returned to a large area of Torquay. The next night the incident was well covered on local TV and in the local press, as the cutting shows. On TV we were shown a close-up of a completely burnt-out large item with insulators (transformer?) at a Newton Abbot sub-station, which had mysteriously exploded. As far as I know at present, the cause of the explosion is still a complete mystery to SWEB (South West Electricity Board). However --- could it be just a coincidence that the first item on the attached processed output sheet shows the occurrence to have been, suspiciously, at the anticipated time of departure of a visiting craft from 'out there'? (Track no. 7). If so, coincidences seem to have come in twos within a period of just a few days.
(The second event, described below, was witnessed from premises just over the road from that glass factory we visited, during your party's tour here last year.)
Thursday, 23rd April --- At 22:00 BST, a security guard at a pottery in Bovey Tracy (only about 4 miles NW of Newton Abbot) had the shock of his life -- as the second cutting relates. I arranged to meet him, on site, at 22:00 BST on Tuesday, 29th April. He gave his age as 33 years and was very eager to give me all the details except his full name. In fact, I could hardly get a word in edgeways. He'd already been interviewed by the police, by someone from our MoD over the phone, and by a UFO buff whose name he couldn't remember. He couldn't get over the size of the thing, its low altitude and its uncanny silence, and he poured scorn on the MoD man's very mention of a Hercules transport plane! He had watched it fly off following the road. He drew me a sketch using the bonnet of his van as a table (a copy is enclosed) and I later scribbled details onto it.
The strobing red lights had been very powerful -- and I suggested to him that they might have been infrared illuminators, suspended some distance below the 'wing'. He agreed that that could have been a possibility, because he was conversant with IR surveillance technology. If they had been flashing once per second and if the craft had been flying along at his estimated 200 mph, the distance covered between flashes would have been only about 100 yards (about twice its wingspan?). I took rough compass bearings and the object seemed to have been travelling on a 340 degrees (mag) course (though that was not exactly towards Moretonhampstead, as stated by the witness). If that line is extended southeastwards it runs over part of Newton Abbot and extending it further takes it over Paignton, adjacent to Torquay. If, instead, the object had been travelling directly towards Moretonhampstead (the compass bearing being wrong), it might have overflown both the site of the exploding Newton Abbot sub-station and Torquay. Furthermore, as my second processed output shows, it could have arrived (about 20 minutes before it was seen) from the same track in space as that associated with the explosion event on the 19th April (Track No. 7).
So --- that's all I have on the two events so far, but this afternoon I have put out appeals for more witnesses through several local newspapers, and all have promised to cover the story together with my request. We can but hope for further revelations!
Hoping all is still well with you, Pike and the business. Are we going to meet up again this year -- or have you arranged your overseas tour for somewhere hot and dry, like the Sahara Desert -- or Alice Springs, perhaps?
Anyway, all good wishes -- and happy UFO hunting!
'Bye for now,
Roy

Note: The Beyond Boundaries crop circles expedition is July 25th August 5th - $1599
We will see Roy sometime during that expedition to Wiltshire and probably will travel to Devon also. If you are serious about crop circles and UFO research and are interested in possibly joining this expedition then please call us right away for more information 1-800-259-xxxx and press x to leave your phone number. I will call you back soon as the time is NOW to book that trip so that we can help you find lowest airfare prices from your departure city.
Roy has asked us not to give out his phone number or address as people in the U.S. tend to forget that U.K. time is 6 - 7 hrs later - and he only wants to wake up for UFOs - not phone calls! JM
