Just received from Beyond Boundaries member Ruben Uriarte:
Hi Joyce:
Just spoke to our contact in Atlixco, Norberto Gil Salgado, on Saturday
after hearing on the Art Bell Show that Mt. Popocateptl has sealed
all vents and is about to blow big time. The report on Art Bell was that
the volcano was about to erupt and that many people were very concerned
that the situation would worsen. Well, I am happy to report that Norberto
gave me an updated report live on his cell phone as he was standing in
our usual location at the base of Mt. Popo - 
remember where we
filmed the barbell shaped UFO for Strange Universe in October of 1996?
And this is where the local people go to watch the UFOs all all around
the volcano nearly every day and night of the year! (The
photograph on the right was taken during the October 1996 Beyond Boundaries
Mexico Expedition) - Norberto was in that very same location
looking right at Mt. Popo while he was talking to me via cell phone -
He said that the volcano was just sending up ash as it always has and
that they were not alarmed on any of the recent developments. Note: Beyond
Boundaries just checked today on the latest photos of Mt. Popo and the
smoke from the Mexico and Central America fires was so thick that no plume
of lack of plume from Mt Popo could be seen in the photos. But that was
the best they could do at the time because of the smoky conditions. Ruben
goes on to remind us that Norberto serves as a member of the Mt. Popo
or Atlixco Civil Defense team, and he would have been notified and busy
in case of any emergency declared by volcanologists or the Mexican government.
Also, Joyce, remember how close to the volcano Norberto's family lived
when we visited them last year in Atlixco? He would have evacuated them
immediately from the area and their home so close by if anyone had been
notified of any immediate threat concerning eruption. We could also double
check by calling our friends in the offices at the IMSS Metepec Atlixco
resort for their volcano report to see if it is above the yellow alert.
Norberto went on to advise me that UFO sightings are continuing all around the volcano and that he even saw a plasma craft recently.

So, folks, we are hoping here in Texas that the Norberto report is the accurate one as we have been plagued with the smoke from the Mexican fires the last 2 weeks and we are getting very paranoid about our air and breathable oxygen supply. We don't need a volcano catastrophe and even more important than our Texas air purity are the poor squatter families living in cardboard shacks in the ditches beside the IMSS Resort which would serve as trails for molten lava as well as our wonderful friends in Atlixco.
